Frodo Baggins is a fictional character and the hero of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. He is a hobbit, a mythical being who is small in stature, good-natured, and fond of creature comforts. Frodo is the son of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck. His parents died when he was 12. Frodo is known for his leading role in the Quest of the Ring. In this quest, he carries the One Ring to Mount Doom to destroy it.
